A
renowned feminist, Kishwar Naheed is the enfant terrible
of Urdu poetry. Defiant, outspoken, eminently self-aware
and acutely political, she has always delighted in
cocking a snook at the Establishment - both literary
and otherwise. A former civil servant and editor of
a prestigious monthly magazine in Pakistan, she has
written extensively on women's issues, crimes against
women and the images of women in media and textbooks.
